Stunning new digital exhibition now open!

Following 5 weeks of refurbishment, visitors can enjoy a new and improved exhibition with our fantastic interactive Virtual World of Beatrix Potter™.Following 5 weeks of intensive refurbishment and significant investment, visitors to the Attraction can enjoy a new and improved foyer and gift shop, touch-screen information points through the exhibition along with an enhanced visitor experience in the new exhibit, the ‘Virtual World of Beatrix Potter™.

In the all-new Virtual World of Beatrix Potter™, children and grown-ups can take time to absorb themselves in Miss Potter’s fascinating history in a stunning and memorable display using cutting-edge digital technology. Visitors will experience the wow factor in the impressive new HD interactive suite, providing a highly engaging and sociable way of exploring Beatrix Potter’s world.

The star attraction of the new Virtual World exhibit is the 55” High Definition MultiTouch table (think iPad, but on a much grander scale!), where visitors can explore in depth the set of beautiful Lake District 360 degree panoramas and their relationship to Beatrix Potter’s books, illustrations and life, either on their own or sharing with others.  For even more fun, children can get creative playing MultiTouch puzzles and painting games on the table.

The already hugely popular Virtual Walks exhibit will project a collection of fantastic new Lake District images associated with Beatrix Potter on three large interactive screens.  Each visitor can take their own ‘walk’ in the Lake District visiting Sawrey, Ennerdale and Keswick, all from the comfort and warmth of the Attraction building!  Running alongside this interactive exhibit, a short film ‘The Tale of Mrs Heelis’ gives an overview of Beatrix Potter’s life-story alongside an on-screen introduction into the brand new Peter Rabbit animations as seen on BBC over Christmas and due to hit our TV screens from Easter.

Together with the Virtual Walks, Multi Touch table and games, a vast and amazingly detailed archive is there to discover in the newly presented Time Line, presented on six HD screens displaying a rolling timeline of Beatrix Potter’s life and works.   For the first time in the Attraction’s 21 year history, a huge wealth of archive and historical material is being made available to visitors adding a new dimension to the already popular exhibit.

We welcomes old and new visitors to experience the exciting digital exhibit and enjoy the newly refurbished facilities.
