Peter Rabbit helps donate £5000 to Philippines

At the end of another successful year of business at the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, staff and visitors have together contributed to donating a total of £5000 to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) appeal to help survivors of Typhoon Haiyan in their desperate need for water, food, shelter and medical assistance.

The 30-strong team of staff at the Attraction have worked exceptionally hard over the last 12 months providing a fantastic experience for visitors to the Lake District.  This has reflected in the growth of the business, alongside a renewed interest from young visitors since the launch of the Peter Rabbit animation series on the BBC.

Chief Executive of the Attraction, Andy Poole said: “We have been very fortunate to have another good trading year, helped by a combination of factors including a dedicated team of managers and staff and a continued investment in the business.   Like the rest of the country, we have seen the devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan and the Directors felt that as a business we should help in whatever way we could to make a difference.”
