Peter Rabbit Garden scoops double award

The World of Beatrix Potter™ Attraction has scooped two awards at the recent Cumbria in Bloom ceremony for its Peter Rabbit™ Garden in what has been a tremendous horticultural year for the business, who also won a Gold Medal at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May.

The Peter Rabbit™ Garden, designed by Richard Lucas, was awarded the South Lakeland in Bloom Tourism trophy along with a special Discretionary Award, a Wavy Grain wooden plaque made from Cumbrian Juniper, to acknowledge the gold medal success of the Peter Rabbit Garden.

The much-loved Peter Rabbit garden at the Attraction brings to life the drawings and illustrations from Beatrix Potter’s famous little books and highlights key iconic images from the Tale of Peter Rabbit.  It features culinary and medicinal herbs, vegetables, wild flowers and some cottage garden favourites too, along with Mr McGregor’s greenhouse and slate and brick walls from the original illustrations.

Cumbria in Bloom judge, Colin Cheyne said: “We were delighted to be able to present the WavyGrain plaque to the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction to recognise their Gold Medal success at Chelsea.  Their efforts deserve the recognition and appreciation of Cumbrian businesses and people, and showcase more widely the quality and enterprise Cumbria can offer.”
